We are looking to recruit a confident, motivated, multi-skilled Full Stack Developer, working on a Linux IoT. You will join the company during a time of change and growth and you will be expected to become a key member of staff providing strategic decision making and implementation of systems to help shape and evolve current and new products. The successful applicant will join our small but very busy team based at our head office in Bournemouth town centre.

Tasks

Develop and improve the user interface of the Minibems web app.

Collaborate with embedded systems developers to build new functionality into the Minibems software offering. This will require the integration of our embedded software, an online server and database and the Minibems web application.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility within a team for the software research and development cycle.
  • Write high quality, secure and robust code to meet specified, functional requirements.
  • Submit periodical reports to management showing the status of R&D progress
  • Perform complete review, verification and validation for new product specifications to ensure conformity to requirements and fitness for use.
  • Work to project requirement deadlines.
  • Submit periodical reports to management showing the status of R&D progress
  • Coordinate with concerned departments to update the product range with the developed product, e.g. sales and marketing to promote the product.
  • Undertake such other duties as may be required within the general scope of the job

Salary

Competitive salary, dependent on experience

Holiday

20 days per annum,  increasing by 1 day a year for each full year worked up to a maximum of 25

Working week

37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday

Minibems is an exciting start-up poised to disrupt a number of established industries.

Minibems develops software to control and monitor large heating systems with the aim of reducing costs, carbon emissions and increasing the ease of installation and operation of complex heating systems. This is achieved through embedded controllers providing real-time control and monitoring of equipment throughout the heat network. The controllers are connected to our web app through the cloud which provides remote real-time monitoring and control.

Skills required

  • Three-plus years commercial full stack developer experience.
  • Extensive experience working with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Extensive knowlendge working within backend development
  • Extensive knowledge and hand on experience with architecting software solutions.
  • Experienced in Linux scripting, cloud computing, web server and database management, PHP.
  • Experienced in version control.
  • Ability to easily communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience working with AWS
  • Experience within MySQL and NoSQL

Bonus skills/ Experience

  • Providing second line support.
  • Yii 2.0.
  • Java
  • React and material design
  • Single-board computers, e.g. Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, Arduino

  • Ability to work in a fast paced working environment where priorities and strategy can change quickly as a result of market feedback.
