Minibems is recruiting for an experienced commercial level Mechanical Engineer who has a willingness to shape and develop the company’s Technical approach and performance during a time of growth. The role will be predominately based within its central Bournemouth Head Office, however, travelling will be required for site attendance. You will be working directly with the Operations Manager and remotely with the companies CEO. This is an exciting time to join this growing business, with the opportunity to grow your team as the business continues to grow. Prior knowledge and experience of working within a heating controls environment is required.

You will be expected work as part of a team and/or on your own, as required. Previous heating experience is a must as is the need to be able to work independently with a positive attitude. There will be a high level of responsibility with the job and pride in your work and attention to detail is an absolute necessity.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Work directly with M&E consultants and installation firms with the responsibility of advising on the design of the systems Minibems is specified into, as well as preparing the quotes for these systems.
  • Project manage commissioning of these systems by ensuring that equipment works to its specification within a test environment and liaising with the software team to implement new software where required, supporting documentation is provided to installers, all pre commissioning requirements are complete, software requirements are in place and site structures within the Minibems dashboard are present. Where required, this will include travel and presence onsite to provide one to one commissioning support.
  • Provide remote Technical support by diagnosing and fixing heating and hot water issues reported by clients or end users. Every end user of Minibems has access to the Customer Service support number and in the case of heating or hot water failure which 1st line support cannot resolve, a clear diagnosis and fix must be identified and communicated effectively through to completion.
  • Working with the software team on highlighting trends with system failures reported to implement fixes, where possible.
  • Where required provide remote and onsite training to installers.
  • Writing reports and documentation were required.
  • Deliver client expectations within strict deadlines whilst offering excellent customer service .
  • Maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients
  • Managing own workload and prioritise to the needs of the customer and the business
  • Completing administrative work, as required
  • Undertake such other duties as may be required within the general scope of the job

Salary

Competitive Salary, dependent on experience.

Holiday

20 days per annum, increasing by 1 day a year for each full year worked up to a maximum of 30

Working week

37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

You will be expected to provide emergency support to the out of hours support service which runs Monday to Friday 8am until 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am until 4pm, structure to be agreed.

Experience & qualifications

  • Gas Safe qualified with ACS- CCN1, CENWAT1, HTR1 as a minimum
  • Qualified plumbing & heating engineer (NVQ or equivalent).
  • Unvented qualifications and experience necessary.
  • 5+ years of plumbing/heating experience.
  • Oil and LPG qualification and experience advantageous but not a requirement.
  • Physically fit to be able to carry out all the duties required for the role.
